Milk

ok so this is just a view of the DIA from the roof of my building
Here's my last in-class painting
This is my final out-of-class painting of Morgan.

Here's a sample of the digital stuff I learned. I had to do all 12 zodiacs for a project, but I think I'm going to make the better spots (shown here) into more plastic jewelry like obama earrings. Look I learned how to render an iphone digitally! Haha, my poor prof got about 4 emails a day from me with a list of questions about that program... We worked with a senior class in the ad dept for one of their projects and I got chosen by a girl who's campaign was juicy couture's viva-la-juicy perfume. I did some full illustrations for her print ads, but the bow was just something I drew her for a mailer. Lastly, in my weimar republic history class I got to do my final on fembots in films from 1927-2007!

blue angel

So back to school after a work-filled spring break! I still have work to do on this portrait, but it was my midterm for figure painting:
Heather made me these throw pillows from vintage kitchen towels she had. I think they're GREAT and if you're interested in getting any (one of a kind!) you can order them at Second Chance Consignment or Heather's etsy page:

home for the holidays

My second in class painting for my fine arts class:
It's pretty big (36"48" I think), and so it makes me feel like high school! Sophia was the model; wish I had another week on it (we have 4, 6-hour classes for each pose)

Hey it's almost spring break and everyone is pretty overwhelmed! phew.
On the upside: Somerset mall gave us gift cards for our departmental competition and I got new spring eye shadows with Irene at M.A.C.!
Excited for Jess to come home in 2 and 1/2 weeks but glad that he seems to be having a great time in England:
"and then I printed it and talked with the teach
it's a 2 hour class, and I usually leave an hour early to sit in on a senior seminar
but today I was meeting with one of the department heads who is compiling archives on british modernity, which I'm really into
but there's basically no resources on it
it's nothing like modernism of the swiss and american, it was a period of strict practice, correspondence and methodological thinking towards typography
so there's a lot of great writing from the period, and interesting work, much of which is archived by this guy
so I talked to him for about a half hour, and we're going to meet again tomorrow
then I went home for lunch
then came back to my theory class
which was pretty interesting
(learned about the guy that invented bar graphs!)"

twilight wishes you a happy's pizza!

Here are some of my last paintings for the semester hope to see all of you soon!
This one was one of my two-week-long projects.  The assignment was a voyeur piece that I got Meg to pose for.  It was pretty difficult putting pics of her, the side of the house, and reflections on glass together so I probably shouldnt have done it for such a short assignment... however, I guess I'll have time to work on it before reviews

Some in class head studies of Ron:

Head study of Rhanda:

Book cover illustration of "The Old Man and the Sea" with Chris as the model.  ANOTHER two week project but it was quick and easy!
Portrait of Irene:
Irene's foil/product/fashion shoot for her fine arts photography class (I think...)
We just decided to do something stupid and then she'd make it work with the processing so if you notice a fembot/elvis thing going on, that's kind of part of it.

BRAINSCAN: massive blog!

Dear wonderful friends, I MISS YOU SO MUCH!  so so soo sorry I havent updated since moving back, but seeing as I suck at fitting in Michigander-style, I want to keep in touch more than ever!  Here's what I've been up to so far: (above: puppy purses anyone? good $$$)
Chris Lee takes Jess and I out for bday ice cream when we come to visit
Jesse is still cute, and rocks his conflicting temp tatts
How I spent $450 in three hours:
Betsey Johnson earrings on SUPER sale at BJ store for $20!  however, no more shopping for me for a loooong time. ps- suzanne I'm gonna wait until november to scope out their new collections for someone's bday...
I bit the bullet and bought a cam.  It was on sale at best buy for what Irene and I thought was a worthy $120.  It was time I stopped borrowing everyone elses.  check out my monster hands...Lastly: new panties and a set of real (not water-based) oils.  Some supplies not pictured.  The guy at dick blick took pity on me and my huge bill and gave us free sketchbooks!
My favorite class this semester is Portrait painting.  Above is my first project for the class: a portrait of a dead, inspirational celebrity.  I did mine of Otis Redding. It isnt done, but I'll post it when it's finished in the next week or so.  Below are some of my 25 min head studies of one of the ccs models, Harry.
TO WONG FOO, THANKS FOR THE APPLES!

A good thing about Michigan: beautiful countryside minus the unbelievable industrial/residential growth of Ohio.  Right now I'm making about 2 gallons of apple sauce in our apt.

Irene= my tree climbing soul mate.  With my massive hands and long limbs and her 1/2 Japaneseness, we rock

Did you know that the US owned Guam?  Or that there is a body of water called the "Celebes Sea?"
