Ok so I'm not really following my New Year's resolution, but I'm watching the LOST PREMIER so I thought I'd post the Valentine's Day card I made for my boss 3 years ago to commemorate the day!

Nisei and 2shy

...So I'm just starting out with a lot of projects, and that means I'm going to have to be lazy and use work from last semester for this week's post. This is one of the process prints from a 4-screen illustration in yellow, magenta, cyan and black that I did of Chris Lee when he went to Egypt this summer.
In other news, Glen Bell, the revolutionary founder of Taco Bell passed away this week, and we will be commemorating his life and accomplishments with a 120,000 calorie meal tonight. Without nacho cheese chalupas, chicken ranchero soft tacos and nachos bell grande who knows where I would be today? I read that he was a war veteran, and a pretty nice guy, so I'm sure he will be greatly missed, and- like the mucho grande nachos- never forgotten.
RIP Mr. Glen W. Bell, Jr.

Wild Country
Ok, so I'm late on updating already, but Jess and I found out that hand printing/sewing some portfolio books for me was a lot more time consuming than we thought, and I just finished last night! So I'm going to catch up now on ALL of our other work, and paint in my "at" circle in my contact info.

Jess obviously helped me with the design and type, and I'll post a link to his newly reconstructed website when it's up sometime in the next few weeks!

Everyone Says I Love You
HAPPY NEW YEAR
I have a great feeling about the 20-teens, and to start it off one of my new years resolutions is to update my blog once a week!

Last semester I silkscreened a promotional poster for Second Chance Consignment. I've worked there since sophomore year of high school, and am always thankful that they let me come back to work during break. We're also currently revamping our website, so I'll give you that once it's up again, but for now you can follow us on twitter at: secondchanceGV

Milk
ok so this is just a view of the DIA from the roof of my building
Here's my last in-class painting
This is my final out-of-class painting of Morgan.
Here's a sample of the digital stuff I learned. I had to do all 12 zodiacs for a project, but I think I'm going to make the better spots (shown here) into more plastic jewelry like obama earrings. Look I learned how to render an iphone digitally! Haha, my poor prof got about 4 emails a day from me with a list of questions about that program... We worked with a senior class in the ad dept for one of their projects and I got chosen by a girl who's campaign was juicy couture's viva-la-juicy perfume. I did some full illustrations for her print ads, but the bow was just something I drew her for a mailer. Lastly, in my weimar republic history class I got to do my final on fembots in films from 1927-2007!

blue angel
So back to school after a work-filled spring break! I still have work to do on this portrait, but it was my midterm for figure painting:
Heather made me these throw pillows from vintage kitchen towels she had. I think they're GREAT and if you're interested in getting any (one of a kind!) you can order them at Second Chance Consignment or Heather's etsy page:

Jess is home in two days!

home for the holidays
My second in class painting for my fine arts class:
It's pretty big (36"48" I think), and so it makes me feel like high school! Sophia was the model; wish I had another week on it (we have 4, 6-hour classes for each pose)

Hey it's almost spring break and everyone is pretty overwhelmed! phew.
Excited for Jess to come home in 2 and 1/2 weeks but glad that he seems to be having a great time in England:
"and then I printed it and talked with the teach
it's a 2 hour class, and I usually leave an hour early to sit in on a senior seminar
but today I was meeting with one of the department heads who is compiling archives on british modernity, which I'm really into
but there's basically no resources on it
it's nothing like modernism of the swiss and american, it was a period of strict practice, correspondence and methodological thinking towards typography
so there's a lot of great writing from the period, and interesting work, much of which is archived by this guy
so I talked to him for about a half hour, and we're going to meet again tomorrow
then I went home for lunch
then came back to my theory class
which was pretty interesting
(learned about the guy that invented bar graphs!)"
